We are supposed to ride this weekend, but don't know where yet. I am sure it will be somewhere close to us around Springhill area, due to time constraints. Hope you find someone in your area to ride with. Happy trails!

Is anyone going over to Natchez Trace this coming weekend. I'm talking about the part of the Trace that is over near Lexington, Tn. If so let me know. My birthday is this coming Sunday and I'm looking for some friends from the group that would like to go riding with me and my hubby. If you need a horse I've got a spare one, he's a QH but he's a good ride.

Hey Katie, BSF is in east Tn over by Jamestown. It is about 2 1/2 to 3 hours from Nashville. Not a bad drive at all. Close enough even for a day ride if you get up early enough. Anyway, the BSF is a national forest, I don't know how many acres, but probably in the 1,000's I would think. East Fork is also close by, but it is private land. Haven't ridden there but the terrain and scenery are similiar to BSF. Definitely worth the trip, especially if you stay with Denise and Lee at Timber Ridge. For shorter trips we go to Many Cedars (which is closed in the winter), Why Not Ranch (which is open year round), Natchez Trace parkway (usually between Hwy 7 and Hwy 50) or on private land owned by friends. We have in the past ridden out in Bon Aqua (off of Hwy 100) when we boarded the horses in that area. Now we have them at home, so we haven't been there since last summer. I did go to Bucksnort one day this year, it was pretty there, too, but they are only open during their organized rides. I am looking forward to going to Seven Springs (in north Alabama), and to Circle E with my posse.
